At Grace, one of the primary ways we build a culture of discipleship is by cultivating fellowship with each other through our Koinonia Groups (KG). Koinonia Groups meet every other Sunday night in homes across the area during the school year from August through the end of May.
This past semester we had four Koinonia Groups (Lexington, Irmo, Columbia and Elgin). We had a great time growing in our understanding of God through learning about His attributes and also, growing in our care for each other. These KG gave us all ample opportunity to practice the ‘one-anothers,’ to pray for specific needs, to enjoy casual Christian fellowship, and to partake in some light refreshments - key to fellowship!
In the upcoming fall semester of KG, we are moving forward with great anticipation and hope for the same spiritual impact, however, with a few modifications. The leadership team believes that consolidating the four existing KG into two main groups will benefit the church more than the previous format of four. So, in the fall of 2016, there will be two KG perfectly located to meet the needs of the church body. These two KG will be located in the Lexington area and in the Columbia area.
It is our greatest desire for the whole body of GBC to attend a Koinonia Group. There is nothing more important in our lives than our relationship with Christ. Our relationship together is a key part of our love for Christ. As we move toward the fall, please be in prayer for these wonderful times together. It is our prayer that God will use these times to strengthen our unity and deepen our love for Jesus Christ.
